Becoming Beautiful

"And I want women to get in there with the men in humility before God, not primping before a mirror or chasing the latest fashions but doing something beautiful for God and becoming beautiful doing it" 1 Tim 2:9-10

Don’t waste your life! The best way to do this is by wasting it. Dizzy? See, by wasting things like time and money, you can make sure that you don’t waste your only opportunity to live on this earth - reincarnation isn’t real; sorry to ruin your dreams of living another life as a Komodo Dragon. This life is the only one we get, so let’s make the most of it. We do this by giving God all of our time, money, gifts, EVERYTHING… letting Him use it however He chooses; after all, He gave us all those things and He knows how to use them best.  Sometimes the best way to use them, will seem wasteful to people; but choosing not to use them for God’s plan is the biggest waste of all… even if you think you’re using them wisely.

Nothing is wasted when its given to Jesus - this is basically what I got from the story of the woman who anointed Jesus’ head with very expensive perfume, found in Mark 14. Many viewed her actions as wasteful and unwise; she could have used the money the perfume was worth for better things. But instead, she chose to give this perfume of great worth to Jesus (maybe it was cologne). What this woman did was probably financially unwise, but it was beautiful to Jesus (Mark 14:6).

Jesus wants me to be generous. He is never stingy- Jesus gives generously of His time, gifts, and money. He knows that souls are more valuable than anything else.

Are you willing to waste your life so you don’t waste your life?
